Ariadne

I'm quite obsessed with butterflies. A butterfly is a symbol of a lot of things I believe in. It's a symbol of the soul, of beauty, and metamorphosis. Change. Such a powerful symbol carried by a very fragile creature. Maybe that's why I like butterflies. They're fragile but powerful AND beautiful at the same time.

I've decided for about a year ago that butterflies would be the theme of my first collection for a new shop I now work for.

It's the egg of an Ariadne Merione, more commonly called Common Castor, a butterfly specie found in Asia.

This is how the garment inspired by this egg (a thing that is full of potential, something that is just about to start life) turned out.
